Phoneme Media‘s inaugural 2015 season features books translated from Portuguese, Russian, Uyghur, Arabic, Serbian, Mazatec, Isthmus Zapotec, Tzotzil, Yucatec Maya, Huastecan Nahuatl, Zoque, Spanish, and Korean.
2015’s single-author books have been awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Translation Grant, a Pen/Heim Translation Fund Grant, and a New York State Council on the Arts Translation Grant, all awarded to our outstanding women translators, which make up 50% of Phoneme’s talented translation team, a percentage we intend to increase in years to come.
